Linens can make or break a tablescape — but only if they fit. A cloth that’s too short shows table legs; one that’s too long pools on the floor and trips guests. This tablecloth size chart helps you choose the right linen rentals for every table.

How Tablecloth Sizing Works

Standard banquet tables are about 30 inches tall. The “drop” is how far the cloth hangs down from the tabletop edge:

• Floor-length: about a 30-inch drop — hides table legs, the most formal look
• Lap-length: about a 10–15 inch drop — casual and practical
• Formula: table size + (drop x 2) = tablecloth size

Round Table Tablecloth Sizes

• 48-inch round: 108-inch round (floor-length) or 90-inch round (lap-length)
• 60-inch round: 120-inch round (floor-length) or 90-inch round (lap-length)
• 72-inch round: 132-inch round (floor-length) or 108-inch round (lap-length)

Rectangular Table Tablecloth Sizes

• 6-ft table (30×72): 90×132 (floor-length) or 60×102 (lap-length)
• 8-ft table (30×96): 90×156 (floor-length) or 60×126 (lap-length)
• 4-ft table (30×48): 60×102 or a fitted spandex cover

Cocktail and Highboy Tables

• 30-inch highboy (about 42 inches tall): a 120-inch round cloth, often tied at the waist with a sash
• Spandex covers: a fitted, modern look that won’t blow around outdoors

Overlays, Runners and Napkins

• Overlays: a 72×72 or 90×90 square layered over a round cloth adds color and texture
• Runners: 12×108 or 13×108 runners run down the center of rectangular or round tables
• Napkins: 17×17 or 20×20 — plan one per guest plus 10% extra
• Chair covers and sashes: dress up banquet or folding chairs

Choosing Colors

• Classic: white or ivory base with gold or silver accents
• Romantic: blush, dusty rose and champagne
• Garden: sage green, eucalyptus and ivory
• Bold: emerald, navy or burgundy with gold chargers
• Fall: terracotta, rust and burnt orange
